okoHaus is thrilled to announce that we have officially been accredited as a real Living Wage employer. This achievement reflects the company’s values of responsibility and fairness, as these extend to all of our staff, contractors, and to our community as a whole. By becoming a Living Wage employer, we are able to ensure our employees receive what they truly deserve, which is the best we can possibly do for them.
What is the Real Living Wage?
The real Living Wage is independent of the government’s National Living Wage. It’s calculated according to real-life needs and the actual cost of living. The real Living Wage has been set by the Living Wage Foundation in an effort to help employees in the struggle against inflation and rising living costs. The real Living Wage is currently set at £12.60 per hour outside London and £13.85 per hour in London.

What Does Being a Living Wage Employer Mean?
For okoHaus, being a Living Wage employer means our employees are always guaranteed fair wages for a more sustainable life. Because sustainability is the heart of our business practices, we wanted our employees’ quality of life to be just as sustainable and evolving.
We believe deeply in the well-being of our employees, and our Living Wage status will help us improve their financial status, alleviate some stress, and give them greater job satisfaction.
Living Wage Equals Better Employees
In any business, fair wages result in better employee morale, increased productivity and loyalty, and a far healthier work environment where everyone can operate at their optimal level, thus improving efficiency for the entire organisation. At okoHaus, we put our employees first and we always aim to be viewed as a socially responsible and ethical company.
To a More Sustainable Future
Going forward, okoHaus plans on displaying the Living Wage mark proudly throughout our online presence and in any events and celebrations. The Living Wage Foundation has also given us a library of resources that can help us become better employers and help better our community one step at a time.
We are eternally grateful for the acknowledgement of our sustainable practices and we will continue to find new ways to be a responsible business.
